Loose Tooth is accepting pitches for manuscripts that can’t easily be categorized, to be published as a limited edition chapbook.
Examples include (but aren’t limited to): a critical essay formatted as an illuminated manuscript, a recipe booklet covering every course of a single meal, a how-to manual that instructs on the physical and metaphysical, a photo book with captions that function as a poem, a psychoanalytic case study, a bestiary of the unconscious, rediscovered folklore presented as current events, a micro-memoir told through documents, and other hybrid or experimental forms.
If you have a project that could take the form of a small, thoughtfully designed book, we’d love to hear about it.
Your manuscript does not have to be complete or print-ready. We will help you with design and layout.
Email info@loosetooth.press with the subject line formatted as YOUR NAME – PROPOSED TITLE. Send a brief cover letter (including a biographical statement), and a separate paragraph describing your proposed piece. Please attach any supporting materials as a pdf or a link within the body of the email — do not attach images or videos to your email.
We pay contributors a portion of the profits from their book sales.
We will consider submitted manuscripts until Oct 15 for publication in 2027. Please refrain from inquiring about the status of your submission until 3 months have passed. We will do our best to get back to everyone in a timely manner.
